Weymouth Public Schools Welcomes Robert Wargo as Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services and Support
WEYMOUTH — Superintendent Jennifer Curtis-Whipple is pleased to announce that Weymouth Public Schools has hired a new Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services and Support.
Robert Wargo officially joined the district following a vote at the Thursday, Dec. 12 Weymouth School Committee meeting.
Wargo holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland College Park, where he majored in Counseling/Psychology. He went on to receive his Masters of Education from Northeastern University, and is working towards his Doctorate of Education, Curriculum, Teaching, Learning and Leadership, from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Wargo joins the Weymouth Public Schools from Scituate High School, where he has served as Principal since 2012. He previously held positions in other school districts as a Director of Athletics, Guidance Counselor, Health Teacher, Dean of Students and Assistant Principal.
Wargo is expected to officially begin working in Weymouth on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020 and he will replace current Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services and Support Mary Ann Bryan, who will be retiring in February.
“I would like to formally welcome Robert to our district, filling the important role of Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services and Support. I believe his wealth of experience will be a benefit to the district overall,” Superintendent Curtis-Whipple said. “I would also like to thank the interview team that spent many hours reviewing applicants, creating real-world task scenarios and interviewing many applicants. This team was very dedicated and their efforts appreciated.”
