Raymond School District Appoints Holly Londo as Extended Learning Opportunity Coordinator
RAYMOND — Superintendent Tina McCoy is pleased to announce that Holly Londo is the district’s new Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) Coordinator.
Extended Learning Opportunities are experiences designed to promote and enhance students’ interests and learning outside of the typical classroom environment. This can be done through internships with local businesses to explore careers of interest or independent studies to support academic goals/challenge oneself beyond available coursework.
This is the first position of its kind within the Raymond School District and was created to give students additional opportunities to obtain internships and other real-world experience for high school credit.
“We are incredibly excited and fortunate to have Holly’s expertise and experience to implement ELOs within the district,” Superintendent McCoy said. “This program will allow students to gain hands-on experience and practical skills in fields they’re interested in to better prepare them for post-secondary education and careers.”
Londo stepped into the role on Aug. 19 with 10 years experience as an ELO Coordinator at Windham High School.
In her role as ELO Coordinator in Raymond, Londo will create and maintain a program for high school school students, challenging them to think out of the box when it comes to learning. She’ll begin by looking into potential career development options for students, from the marketing to technical fields.
“I am looking forward to creating opportunities for students that they may have not been aware of or even thought possible,” Londo said. “I want to provide a diverse selection of career clusters to reach the wants and needs of the student and community. The greater awareness of what’s out there can certainly change the direction of one’s path.”
Londo holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood administration from Granite State College and a master’s degree in human services/mental health from New England College.
Businesses that would like to partner with the Raymond School District for its ELO program are encouraged to contact Londo at h.londo@sau33.com or 603-895-6616 ext. 2310
