Chelmsford Police Department Welcomes New School Resource Officer
CHELMSFORD – Chief James Spinney is pleased to announce that Officer Dan Goguen will serve as the town’s newest School Resource Officer (SRO).
Officer Goguen is the Chelmsford Police Department’s third SRO, and will be assigned to the McCarthy Middle School full-time, starting on Monday, Aug. 26.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with the Chelmsford School District as we work to improve safety plans and protocols within our schools,” Chief Spinney said. “Student safety is of the utmost importance, and I’m confident that Officer Goguen will be a great resource and support for the staff and students at the McCarthy School.”
In addition to Officer Goguen, Detective Becky Tyros continues to serve as the SRO at Chelmsford High School and Officer Dan Sullivan will continue his work as the SRO at Parker Middle School.
Officer Goguen joined the Chelmsford Police Department in 2004, and is one of the department’s tactical and firearms training instructors. He is a certified A.L.I.C.E. instructor and has attended School Resource Officer training.
