SOUTH EASTON — Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School is proud to announce that Lilirose Proctor, a sophomore from Norton enrolled in the Legal and Protective Services Program, has been selected for one of the 18 seats on the inaugural Massachusetts Attorney General’s Youth Council (AGO).
This new initiative, led by Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell, aims to engage youth in the decision-making process and provide a platform for them to voice their concerns on critical issues affecting their lives.
The AGO Youth Council will convene regularly to discuss key state initiatives, develop leadership skills, and offer counsel on important matters such as gun violence, bullying, and mental health. Lilirose was chosen through a highly competitive application process, which included submitting an essay on an issue she is passionate about and participating in a live interview. Lilirose’s focus was on youth mental health, a cause she is deeply committed to. She aims to raise awareness, combat stigma, and encourage young people to seek the help they need.
Lilirose’s selection to the AGO Youth Council is a testament to her dedication and passion for making a positive impact. “I am honored to have been selected to represent my peers and contribute to meaningful change in Massachusetts,” said Lilirose. “Youth mental health is an issue close to my heart, and I look forward to working with the Attorney General’s team to help create a stronger, more supportive environment for young people.”
Patricia Allen, Lilirose’s instructor in the Legal and Protective Services Program at Southeastern, expressed her pride in Lilirose’s accomplishment.
“I couldn’t be prouder of Lilirose for taking the initiative to apply for such an important role,” Allen said. “She is an incredibly kind, thoughtful, and driven student, and I am excited to see all that she will achieve as part of this groundbreaking council.”
