STONEHAM — School Committee Chairperson Melanie Fiore, Superintendent of Schools David Ljungberg and Stoneham Town Administrator Dennis Sheehan are pleased to announce that, after receiving its Certificate of Occupancy on Thursday, the new Stoneham High School building will open to students on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
The Stoneham School Committee, at a meeting Thursday evening, approved the Sept. 3 start date for high school students and Sept. 4 start date for pre-K students.
“On behalf of our entire Stoneham Public Schools team, I am excited to welcome all of our students back to school on Tuesday as we usher in a new era with a brand new building online,” Superintendent Ljungberg said. “Thank you to all of our partners who made this day possible.”
Stoneham High School will operate on a normal morning schedule on Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Wednesday, Sept. 4, with early dismissal on both days.
Pre-K students will have orientation on Tuesday and a normal schedule on Wednesday and onward. Families are reminded that Wednesdays are always early dismissal for Pre-K students.
“I’d like to thank the High School Building Committee for their years of hard work leading up to this moment, and the entire project team for their tireless efforts these past few weeks,” said Town Administrator Sheehan.
