ATTLEBORO — Superintendent David Sawyer and Wamsutta Middle School Principal Kevin Atkinson are pleased to share that Wamsutta Middle School, The Wamsutta PTO, and Boosterthon hosted its annual Color Run fundraiser on Friday, May 10.
For approximately two hours, more than 500 students ran a course along a loop on the Wamsutta Middle School fields while raising money for music equipment, physical education equipment and other needed supplies while families cheered them on. Students were sponsored by family members before the race and had color powder thrown on them as they completed the course.
Students raised more than $20,000, making this year’s Color Run the most successful yet.
After the race, students enjoyed face painting by art teachers and music with a DJ provided by Boosterthon, a school fundraising platform. Snacks, drinks and facepaint for the event were sponsored by the Wamsutta Middle School PTO.
“We are so glad that the community could come together for a day of fun while generating funds for our schools,” said Principal Atkinson. “On behalf of the Wamsutta community, we thank all of our runners and volunteers for their support.”
