ATTLEBORO — Superintendent David Sawyer and Coelho Middle School Principal Andrew Boles are pleased to share that Attleboro’s Coelho Middle School hosted a successful Paint Night on April 10.
Coelho Middle School students were asked to invite a special adult in their lives to create imaginative landscape paintings inspired by the art of Vincent Van Gogh. The event was organized by art teachers Leah Stevenson and Kristen Gerardi.
“We thank our Attleboro families for supporting their children and the arts during this event,” Superintendent Sawyer said. “We have a talented community of artists and I hope these paintings serve as a special memento of a fun night.”
Over 40 students and adults took part in the event and were supplied with materials. Attendees each made a sunset scene inspired by “Starry Night” on small canvases.
Artists were assisted by Coelho Middle School’s group of Junior Art Directors, who are eighth-grade students who help with art events and art classes during the school day for fifth and sixth graders.
