DURHAM — The Oyster River Cooperative School District is pleased to announce that Bill Sullivan has been named Principal of Oyster River Middle School.
Principal Sullivan joined the ORMS community in 2000 as a Grade 5 classroom teacher. He was named Assistant Principal in 2011. He has been serving as Interim Principal since the beginning of the school year.
Sullivan also served as the High School Boys Lacrosse Coach from 2002-2010, and 2014-2017.
“Stepping into this role six months ago as Interim Principal felt like diving into a new professional chapter and I am excited to have been named as Oyster River Middle School’s new principal,” Principal Sullivan said. “The staff and community have been incredibly supportive, and I am honored to be able to continue serving Oyster River’s students, families, staff, and community.”
Sullivan worked extensively in the private sector before pursuing a career in education. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Notre Dame College.
“Principal Sullivan has been a vital part of creating the ORMS culture for more than two decades,” Superintendent Morse said. “He has high standards and a true excitement for learning, and we are confident in the future of ORMS under his leadership and guidance.”
