UXBRIDGE — Superintendent Michael Baldassarre and Principal Michael Rubin are pleased to announce that Uxbridge High School recently hosted U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern.
On Monday, Oct. 30, Rep. McGovern joined staff and students as “Principal for the Day,” in recognition of National Principals Month.

The tour began at Brian Grady’s eighth-grade civics class, where students are learning about the three branches of government. While visiting, students had the opportunity to speak to Rep. McGovern about the projects that they were working on and ask questions about Rep.McGovern’s day-to-day responsibilities.
Rep. McGovern also had the opportunity to visit a senior engineering class, where he watched as students used 3D printers and other high-tech tools to solve complex problems.
Throughout the day, Rep. McGovern spoke to High School administrators about how Congress can support Uxbridge Public Schools’ work in educating the next generation.
“It was a pleasure to welcome back Rep.McGovern and his team to Uxbridge High School,” said Superintendent Baldassarre. “We appreciate the continued support of Rep. McGovern It is with his support that Uxbridge Public Schools continues to take strides forward to meet the ever-changing needs of our students and their families.”
