NORWOOD — General Manager Tony Mazzucco, on behalf of the Town of Norwood and the Norwood Fire Department, is pleased to announce that Timothy Bailey was officially sworn into his new role as fire chief today.
Chief Bailey began in his new position on Monday, July 10, and was officially sworn in during a ceremony at Memorial Hall on Monday afternoon.
During the ceremony, Chief Bailey was sworn in by Town Clerk Mary Lou Folan and was pinned by his wife Megan and his daughters.
“On behalf of the Town of Norwood, I would like to congratulate Timothy Bailey on his appointment as Norwood’s next fire chief,” said General Manager Mazzucco. “Chief Bailey’s experience and knowledge are incredibly valuable to our community and I am confident in his ability to excel as a leader.”
Chief Bailey has over 35 years of experience in the fire service, having most recently served as chief of the Walpole Fire Department for the past 18 years. Additionally, Chief Bailey actively serves on the Fire Chiefs Association of Massachusetts (FCAM) Board of Directors.
“It is an honor to serve the Norwood community in this new capacity,” said Chief Bailey. “I look forward to working alongside the talented and dedicated team of fire personnel that Norwood has and continuing to ensure the safety of the town’s residents.”
