ROCKLAND — On Friday, June 2, Rockland Senior High School held the Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Diplomas were awarded to 133 graduates at the ceremony by Class Advisor Ashley Leighton and School Committee Chair Jill Maroney.
“Whatever your future is, you will do great things and make an impact,” said Senior Class President MaryKate Leoncavallo. “For those going to college, work hard your freshman year as we have all realized that the first year matters. For those joining the workforce, don’t grow up too fast and for the few enlisting in the military, thank you. Lastly, for those taking a different path, your future is bright.”
The ceremony included a welcome address from Principal Harrison; a valedictorian address from Matthew Medford; an address from Leoncavallo; and an address from Honored Faculty Speaker Matthew Anzalone.
Honored Faculty Speaker Anzalone spoke about the importance of focusing on the process, not the end result, saying “To enjoy the little things in life, to smile through the process, is to truly live.”
“Throughout these last four years, I have watched our class of 2023 graduates grow as individuals and as a community,” said Superintendent Cron. “Though they faced challenges, they persisted. As our students embark on their next journey, I am confident that they will bring this persistence and determination with them. Congratulations to all.”
