TOWNSEND — Superintendent Brad Morgan is pleased to announce the appointment of Co-Principals at the Varnum Brook Elementary School.
On Wednesday, March 8, Superintendent Morgan concluded a thorough search process by appointing Ami Dolan and Meghan Branco to be co-principals of the district’s largest elementary school.
Dolan is the current Assistant Principal at Varnum Brook Elementary School and has additional experience in both Massachusetts and New York as a teacher, Literacy Specialist, and experience as an Instructional Coach for many years.
Branco is the current Assistant Principal at the Lincoln School in Lowell and has several years of experience as an Assistant Principal in Lowell, Waltham, and Arlington as well as teaching experience in Westford.
The co-principal model allows for increased flexibility for principals to effectively address staff and parental concerns, while also fostering a true partnership in collaborative decision making, and creating an ability to build on the strengths of each other to positively impact the school community.
“We are excited about this new co-principal model, which has been highly successful in other districts both in Massachusetts and across the country,” said Superintendent Morgan. “Ms. Dolan and Mrs. Branco both have a wealth of experience as instructional leaders that is also varied, which I am confident will provide a great balance and a solid team moving forward.”
Varnum Brook Elementary School, located in Pepperell, is home to approximately 633 students in Kindergarten to Grade 4.
