WENHAM — Town Administrator Steve Poulos is pleased to share that the Town of Wenham is making progress on developing its master plan, and invites residents to provide feedback as the process continues.
The 10-year master plan will guide the future of the town, especially when it comes to development and preservation.
The process is in its second phase, where the Planning Board, Master Plan Advisory Committee and the town’s consultant, JM Goldson, are soliciting ideas and feedback from residents on how they would like to see the town evolve over the next decade.
Phase I, a report on the current state of the town, was made available in late 2022. It can be viewed here. Residents are invited to offer their feedback on the report using one of several avenues the town is utilizing to collect responses.
A comprehensive website highlighting the work so far, and the work still to come, on Wenham’s master plan is available by clicking here.
Residents are also encouraged to subscribe to the master plan website for updates about important meetings and milestones in the process.
One option is the town’s “Meeting in a Box” kits, designed to help facilitate at-home conversations. Packages available at Town Hall include a pen, notepad, and clipboard with materials about the master plan. Neighbors can meet and consider ideas as a group, then send them into the town.
Also, a series of public meetings is planned for February at the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library, 14 Union St., Hamilton. One member of the Master Plan Advisory Committee will be present at each meeting to engage with residents about their hopes and visions for the future of the town.
Meetings are scheduled for:
- Thursday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m.
- Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 5:30 p.m.
- Thursday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m.
- Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 5:30 p.m.
