Narragansett Police Seeks Applications for Police Officer Position

NARRAGANSETT — Chief Sean Corrigan is pleased to announce that the Narragansett Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for a police officer position.

Applications must be submitted by Wednesday, Feb. 22. All applications must be submitted online at policeapp.com.

Qualified candidates will be U.S. citizens between the ages of 21 and 35 upon appointment. Candidates must also have a minimum of 60 college credits or two consecutive years of honorable active duty military service and hold a valid, unrestricted driver’s license upon appointment. 

Appointment to the department is subject to a satisfactory background investigation, medical exam, psychological exam and drug screen. The first phase of candidate testing is physical agility, which will be held Saturday, March 11. More about the recruitment testing process and timeline can be found on the application site here.

The Narragansett Police Department offers a probationary salary starting at $53,862 and benefits including:

  • Shift differential pay
  • 14 paid holidays 
  • Longevity Pay 
  • 25-year retirement plan 

The department offers opportunities in patrol, detectives, the K-9 division, community policing, school resource officers, the warrant service team, Honor Guard and state task forces.
