EAST BRIDGEWATER — The Town of East Bridgewater is encouraging residents to participate in a transportation survey for the Old Colony Planning Council to help determine the transportation priorities of the public.

The survey asks community members for their opinions on transportation system improvements, what aspects of transportation planning are important to them, funding priorities, safety and more.
The survey responses will help inform the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), which is the policy and visioning document of the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) of the Old Colony Planning Council, the regional planning agency for the region.
The LRTP document results from regional and statewide collaboration and consensus on a region’s transportation system and serves as the defining vision for the region. The document also contains a financial plan or budget which guides and shapes the actions an MPO undertakes as they fulfill the region’s visions and objectives.
This 20-year transportation vision document is updated every four years by the MPO, and this update will provide a vision for the region through 2050.
“I encourage East Bridgewater’s residents to participate in Vision 2050 by completing this survey and sharing your opinions on transportation in our region,” said Town Administrator Charles Seelig. “East Bridgewater, like every city and town in the region, will have transportation challenges that will need to be overcome during the next 30 years. By completing the survey, residents can ensure that their viewpoints are considered as part of the future plans for transportation programs in the area.”
