LUDLOW — Superintendent Frank Tiano and Police Chief Daniel Valadas wish to share information about an investigation into a report of a weapon at Baird Middle School today that was determined to be unfounded.

On Tuesday, Dec. 13, Ludlow Police were notified by a Baird Middle School parent that their student told them about an incident that was ongoing at the school involving a weapon.

Ludlow Police were immediately dispatched to the school and launched an investigation into this claim. Police determined that the claim was false and that there was no credible threat against the school.

Ludlow Public Schools has a strong working partnership with Ludlow Police and thanks them for their quick response.

“Situations like these can cause a great deal of stress for students, parents and our entire community, and we are grateful to Ludlow Police for their quick response and determining that there was no threat or weapon at the school,” Superintendent Tiano said.
