Memorial Park Students to Move into New Phelps Elementary School After Holiday Break
ROCKLAND — Superintendent Alan Cron is pleased to announce that students and families from the Memorial Park School will be attending a Farewell Pasta Family Night tonight to bid farewell to their school before moving into the brand-new Phelps Elementary School following holiday break.
WHEN:
Thursday, Dec. 8
Two sessions:
- 5:30-6:30 p.m.
- 6:30-7:30 p.m.
WHERE:
Memorial Park School, 1 Lt. Col. Brian Duffy Way, Rockland
WHAT:
Students at Memorial Park School will be spending their final days in the school before moving into the new Phelps Elementary School following holiday break. The school is set to be demolished in the coming weeks.
To commemorate and say goodbye to the Memorial Park School, families are invited to a pasta dinner tonight.
The sit-down, family-style dinner will be held in the cafeteria and gym to promote spending family time together and conversation around the dinner table.
Following the dinner, students will each be assigned a wall tile in the hallway where they will get markers to “leave their mark” on the school. Kids can write messages and draw designs and pictures to say goodbye to their school in their own way (please note, the students will not be able to take the tiles home with them).
More than 400 students and their family members are expected to attend the event.
This event was made possible with the support of Players Bar and Grill in Rockland, Poland Springs, Memorial Park Staff, and our families.
