CARVER — Superintendent Scott Knief is pleased to announce that the Carver Middle School Drama Club presented its first-ever middle school musical this past weekend.

On Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3, the Carver Middle School Drama Club presented its performance of ‘Annie KIDS’ to members of the community at the Carver Middle High School Auditorium.

“Annie KIDS” is the school’s first performance of a middle school musical. The musical is based on the popular Tony-winning musical “Annie” and tells the story of little orphan Annie’s very first adventure in 1930s New York City.

The adventure follows Annie, who is determined to find the parents that abandoned her on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan’s evil plans, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable dog named Sandy.

“On behalf of the district, I would like to congratulate the Middle School Drama Club for its performance of the school’s first-ever musical,” Superintendent Knief said. “The musical ‘Annie KIDS’ was a great choice as it is a story that we all know and love, and the performance itself by our students was tremendous. I would like to recognize all the students, advisors, and volunteers who worked so hard to put on this production.”
