WAKEFIELD — Chief Steven A. Skory reports that the Wakefield Police Department responded after a car crashed into a yoga studio at a strip mall this afternoon.

On Sunday, Dec. 4, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Wakefield Police were dispatched to Curve Wellness Studio, 391 Lowell St., for a report of a crash. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 2013 Cadillac XTS had crashed into the front of the business.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was evaluated by EMS on scene and declined transportation to a hospital.

The business sustained damage to its front window, but it is believed that the building is structurally sound. The business was closed at the time of the incident and neighboring businesses were not affected by the crash.

Wakefield Fire and Cataldo Ambulance provided assistance on scene. The crash remains under investigation by Wakefield Police, though the preliminary investigation indicates the cause was accidental.
