TEWKSBURY – Police Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged two men in connection with an alleged Fentanyl transaction on Thursday.
JEFFREY GUTIERREZ, AGE 32, OF LAWRENCE, was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking More Than 10 Grams of Fentanyl
- Possession of a Class D Substance with Intent to Distribute (Subsequent Offense)
- Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute
NATHAN LEACH, AGE 45, OF SANFORD, MAINE, was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking More Than 10 Grams of Fentanyl
On Thursday, Dec. 1, at about 1 p.m., members of the Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit, supported by the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, observed what appeared to be a drug deal in the parking lot of a shopping complex at 85 Main St.
Investigators stopped two men, who were in separate vehicles. Officers discovered an individual later identified as LEACH possessed a small bag containing over 19 grams of Fentanyl. Officers discovered GUTIERREZ with $180 in cash and two bags containing approximately 68 grams of marijuana. LEACH also was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Haverhill District Court.
Both men were taken into custody at the scene, and will be arraigned Friday in Lowell District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
