STOUGHTON — Acting Police Chief Brian Holmes reports that the Stoughton Police Department is investigating a crash that occurred Friday afternoon.
At approximately 1:45 p.m., Stoughton Police and Fire were dispatched to Park Street, in front of RK Plaza, for a report of a crash.
Upon arrival, first responders located four vehicles involved in the crash. Two people were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of crash-related injuries.
An on-scene investigation indicated that one of the vehicles involved in the crash in Stoughton may have been involved in an alleged shooting in Brockton just prior to the crash. Officers investigating the crash scene noticed several bullet holes in one of the vehicles.
The Sharon Police Department K-9 unit responded to the crash scene to provide mutual aid. The alleged shooting is under investigation by the Brockton Police Department, while the crash remains under investigation by the Stoughton Police Department.
A portion of Park Street was closed to traffic while officers were on the scene of the crash and has since reopened.
