Department to Hold ‘Stuff-a-Cruiser Toy Drive
Road Closures to be in Effect
HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith wishes to share information on the department’s participation in this weekend’s Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting event, as well as inform motorists of road closures that will be enacted in the area.
On Saturday, Dec. 3, road closures will be in place for the following streets from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.:
- North Franklin Street, from Linfield Street to Plymouth Street (Route 139)
- Jewel Road, from North Franklin Street to Newton Avenue
The Holbrook Rotary’s Holiday Stroll is held in conjunction with the town’s Tree Lighting ceremony.
The department will be holding a “Stuff-a-Cruiser” toy drive during the event to help those in need this holiday season. Holbrook Police will be accepting new, unwrapped toys and gift cards. Once collected, gifts will be placed into the back of Holbrook Police cruisers.
All gifts collected will be donated to Holbrook Santa, a volunteer program that provides Christmas gifts for Holbrook’s children.
The Holbrook Police Department’s comfort dog, Blue, will also be at the event.
The Holiday Stroll is held to help bring awareness to small businesses, crafters and service providers. Approximately 40 vendors are expected to be set up along North Franklin Street and Jewel Road.
Food trucks and a DJ will be present. Additionally, Santa Claus will be at the event to greet those in attendance and take photos.
