ENFIELD — Superintendent Amanda Isabelle and Principal Jamie Winny are pleased to announce that Enfield Village School students, faculty, and staff will celebrate their school’s designation as a Blue Ribbon School this year.
WHEN:
Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8:30-10 a.m.
WHERE:
Enfield Village School, 271 US-4, Enfield
WHAT:
Students, faculty, and staff at Enfield Village School will celebrate receiving Blue Ribbon School honors from the U.S. Department of Education. U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel A. Cardona recognized 297 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2022.
Festivities will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a schoolwide assembly, during which the Blue Ribbon School’s banner will be unveiled. All students will receive commemorative T-shirts. Students then will go to the playground, and form the letters “EVS” for pictures and drone video. The daylong celebration also includes a pizza party at lunch and many fun activities.
Enfield Village School’s achievement will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 3 and 4.
The Enfield Village School was honored specifically for consistently high academic achievement, high levels of growth and achievement among special education students, and for their commitment to supporting students, especially throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Enfield Village School serves students in pre-K to Grade 4, and encourages strong ties between community and students. Students regularly visit the Town Library, and police officers often visit to have lunch with students. The school also aims to provide students with opportunities to connect their learning to the world by accessing local resources, including the Northern Rail Trail and Shaker Museum. EVS recently received a grant to create an outdoor classroom on campus to further engage students.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program was established in 1982 to focus public attention on the best schools in the country, while also creating opportunities for educators to share best practices within and among schools.
