BOURNE — For all of the work she does supporting students and helping them reach their full potential, Bourne High School counselor Kim Iannucci has been named a recipient of the highly prestigious Yale Educator Award for 2022.
The Yale Educator Recognition Program recognizes outstanding educators from around the world who support and inspire their students to perform at high levels and to achieve excellence.
Students entering the Yale Class of 2026 were asked to nominate outstanding educators who deeply impacted their lives. Iannucci was nominated by BHS Class of 2022’s Kai Chen, and selected as a winner by a committee in the Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
“I was truly shocked, but so very honored that Kai would think of me for this recognition,” Iannucci said. “I love what I do, and it is so rewarding to see the impact of that. Sometimes we get caught up in the day-to-day, so having a student take the time and effort to think of me and my role and how it has impacted students means so very much to me.”
Iannucci was one of three Massachusetts educators to receive this honor. In total,
48 teachers and 29 counselors were selected from across the country and the world.
In September, the winners were sent engraved desk sets and congratulatory letters to mark their accomplishment.
“The entire administrative team at Bourne High School is grateful to Mrs. Iannucci for having such a profound impact on our students and their futures,” Principal Amy Cetner said. “We thank Kai for his acknowledgement of Mrs. Iannucci’s role in his life and in the lives of others.”
