SOUTH EASTON — Superintendent Holly McClanan and Athletic Director Daniel Tripp are pleased to announce that Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School lacrosse player Thomas Hustins has committed to playing lacrosse at the collegiate level next year.
In the fall of 2023, senior Hustins will be attending Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida, to pursue lacrosse at the collegiate level. He received an athletic scholarship from the university.
Hustins is Southeastern lacrosse’s second leading scorer in history (even with his high school career being interrupted by the pandemic). He is a dual offensive threat, playing both attack and midfield as well as his natural position as a close defenseman.
On top of his elite contributions on the field, Hustins was the first junior to be named captain in program’s history. He has embodied the culture of the Southeastern program by always putting teammates ahead of himself, setting the bar for effort on every rep in practice, and excelling in the classroom.
This year, Hustins is completing his plumbing vocational program, and is also a standout athlete beyond the lacrosse field as he is also a leader on the football team and winter track team. His coaches and teachers agree that he is humble, hardworking, and handles himself with class.
“On behalf of the Southeastern community, I’d like to congratulate Thomas on committing to play lacrosse at Saint Leo University next fall,” Athletic Director Tripp said. “We are very proud of all his accomplishments and are confident in his ability to contribute to Saint Leo’s culture just as he always has at Southeastern.”
