HAMPTON — Superintendent Dr. Lois Costa and Principal Kenneth Hawkins are proud to share that the Hampton Academy Boys Cross Country Team recently won the 2022 Black Bear Invitational.
The team had a winning score of 49 points at the meet at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy on Saturday, Oct. 1.
The top seven scoring runners finished the two-mile course in the following times:
- Eighth-grader Ethan Roy had a time of 11:20
- Eighth-grader Nick DePippo had a time of 13:38
- Sixth grader Wes Granger had a time of 13:43
- Seventh-grader Zavier Lapierre had a time of 13:55
- Seventh-grader Andrew Muldoon had a time of 14:14
- Eighth-grader Brody Hamlen had a time of 14:21
- Seventh-grader Viktor Kulberg had a time of 15:22
“The boys ran a very strategic race on a challenging course,” Coach Mike Muldoon said. “They executed well on the plan of running in packs and many of the runners had a personal best time.”
Students competed against Newmarket Jr/Sr Highschool, Oyster River Middle School, Heronfield Academy, Sanborn Regional Middle School, Coe-Brown Northwood Academy and Nottingham School. Newmarket placed second with a score of 51 points.
Hampton Academy also wishes to recognize the Girls Team for placing second in their division.
“Congratulations to our Boys Team for winning this competitive and challenging race and to our Girls Team for achieving second place,” Superintendent Costa said. “Both teams put a lot of time and effort into preparing for this race, and they should be very proud of the results.”
