LUDLOW — Fire Chief Ryan Pease and Police Chief Daniel Valadas wish to invite community members to Ludlow Fire and Police’s annual public safety open house this month.

Ludlow Public Safety Complex, 612 Chapin St.
WHAT:
This afternoon of fun and education will include the following demonstrations and displays:
FIRE:
- Vehicle displays
- Thermal imaging cameras
- “Sparky” the Fire Dog
- Popcorn and balloons
- Fire prevention jeopardy game
- Escape maze learning tool
- Hydraulic extrication tool demonstration at 2 p.m.
- Ice/cold water rescue display
- Tanker truck demonstration
- Fire prevention information
- Public health and emergency preparedness information
POLICE:
- Vehicle displays
- Special response team display
- K-9 demonstration
- Dispatch center
- Special police program
- School resource officer
- Detective bureau/internet and fraud prevention information
- Patrol division
- Ludlow Cares Coalition
- Michael Dias Foundation
“We hope that community members join us later this month for what is sure to be a fun, interactive and educational event,” Chief Pease said. “The members of our departments have worked hard to put together displays and demonstrations that appeal to residents of all ages and interests.”
Representatives from the Health Department also will be present to share important information on public health and emergency preparedness.
“This is an event that our officers, firefighters and community members look forward to throughout the year,” Chief Valadas said. “It is a great opportunity to connect with local public safety officials, learn important safety information and have fun.”
There will be plenty of photo opportunities and attendees are encouraged to bring their cameras.
