WAKEFIELD — Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth (MPY) is pleased to announce the launch of its 2022-2023 Poster and Public Service Announcement Project, with the theme of “The Earth Loves You. Love It Back.”
MPY has hosted its annual poster and public service project since 2009 to engage students on important topics and provide a platform for their voices. The project is open to all high school, middle school and elementary students from Massachusetts Partnerships for Youth member districts. Submissions can be made by individuals, groups of students, or student organizations, classes, clubs, or athletic teams.
This year’s theme is based on the continued movement to be green and sustainable and is meant to encourage students to think about the ways Earth depends on each of us to educate and help others become more environmentally friendly and conscientious.
Suggested topics for posters and PSAs include:
- Reducing paper consumption
- Saving electricity
- Saving water
- Bringing reusable bags to the grocery store
- Walking to school, taking a bike, or carpooling
- Downloading an environmental app
- Starting an environmental club
- Educating others on sustainable development goals (SDGs)
- Recycling
- Buying a water bottle and filling it at fountains instead of using single-use plastic bottles
- Turning off your phone
- Protecting waterways from chemicals
- Planting trees
- Protecting the environment and safeguarding natural resources
“I am always so impressed by the creativity and thoughtfulness of students across the Commonwealth. I look forward to our poster and PSA projects each year because they enable us to showcase the talent of young people,” said Director Daniels. “I encourage all students and student organizations to use their creativity and share messages about saving our planet.”
Project winners will be chosen by a panel of students, educators, law enforcement representatives, and MPY staff.
