TEWKSBURY – Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Lowell man with firearms offenses following a traffic stop.
JEREMIAS PINO-HERNANDEZ, AGE 23, OF LOWELL, was arrested and charged with:
- Carrying aFirearm Without a License
- Firearm Violation With Two Prior Violent/Drug Crimes
- Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card
- Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
On Friday, Sept. 23, at approximately 1 a.m., a Tewksbury Police Officer monitoring traffic in the 1700 block of Andover Street located a driver, PINO-HERNANDEZ, who was wanted on a default warrant out of Lowell District Court.
The officer pulled PINO-HERNANDEZ over on Andover Street and took him into custody.
An inventory search of the vehicle PINO-HERNANDEZ was driving located a 9mm handgun containing eight rounds in the center console of the vehicle. A later search also located a titanium machete wedged between the driver’s seat and center console.
PINO-HERNANDEZ is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Lowell District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
