The Town of Acton and the Town of Maynard invite the community stakeholders to attend a virtual forum to offer feedback about potential zoning updates along Powder Mill Road.
The forum will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 7-8:30 p.m. Those interested in participating are asked to register here.
The towns have been collaborating for two years and working with residents and business owners to create a long-term strategy to guide future growth along the corridor. The strategy of the Powder Mill Road Corridor Initiative is that the towns jointly create an overlay zoning district that supports walkable mixed-use developments, safer mobility options, and expanded access to the Assabet River.
Attendees will be asked to share the types of future development they would like to see along the corridor, as well as where multimodal and river access improvements are most needed. Potential zoning amendments aim to make Powder Mill Road more welcoming and appealing for residents and visitors.
This interactive forum will be an opportunity for stakeholders to provide vital feedback to the project team, which includes town staff members and Planning Board members from both Acton and Maynard, and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC).
This second phase of the project is funded by technical assistance grants from MAPC and state Executive Office of Energy and Environment Affairs (EEA).
