STOW – Yes, both Dunkin outlets in Stow have closed. But there’s more to the town than a cup of coffee – or lack thereof.
Stow recently was featured in a WBZ Radio segment by reporter Matt Shearer, who takes light-hearted looks at suburbia’s burning issues. Shearer expressed solidarity with Stow residents coping with the loss and its new status as a “Dunkin Desert.” The story gained regional and national attention.
In response, Stow TV producer Jonathan Daisy created a 100-second video featuring the Town’s recreational and cultural activities, its history, its farms and orchards, American Heritage Museum, and Minute Man Air Field. The video also spotlights local businesses where you can buy coffee and pastries.
The video ends with Town Administrator Denise Dembkoski pouring a cup of locally sourced apple cider, and reciting the video’s title: “I think we will be OK.”
“We all had a smile about Matt’s story,” she said. “But anyone who lives in Stow knows it’s a great place to live, work, and play. We want everyone else to know it, too. If Matt would like to come back to Stow, we’d be happy to show him around. And, the coffee’s on us.”
Town Administrator Dembkoski also wishes to share that Dunkin has approached the Town about holding a pop-up event in Stow, as soon as next week.
