MANSFIELD — Superintendent Teresa Murphy is pleased to announce that the Mansfield Public Schools accepted a large donation this week from a local business in time for the return to school.
Superintendent Murphy and Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Mike Connolly accepted a large donation of school supplies from Emerson Automation Solutions, located in the Cabot Industrial Park in Mansfield. The donation was presented on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
Emerson Human Resources Manager Ann Robertson and HR Coordinator Melissa Jewett were on hand to present the donation.
Emerson collects items for the community multiple times during the year, and for the month of August they collected school supplies for students in the Mansfield Public Schools.
As part of the drive, bags were filled with markers, colored pencils, notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, scissors, glue and much more. The supplies will go directly into the hands of Mansfield students and teachers in time for the start of the new school year.
“We are so grateful for the local businesses that partner with us throughout the year, and thank the staff at Emerson for this very substantial donation,” Superintendent Murphy said. “These supplies will have a direct impact on students and help them learn while easing the burden on families as we return to school.”
