TYNGSBOROUGH — Superintendent Jill Davis is pleased to announce that Greater Lowell Technical High School welcomed incoming ninth graders during two Freshmen Welcome Days last week.
Greater Lowell Tech held the Welcome Days on July 27 and 28. Students were split into two groups and each group attended one of the two days.
Encouraging creativity and empowering students, Greater Lowell Tech knows that each student is uniquely different and encourages them to embrace these differences as they enter high school.
Incoming ninth graders were welcomed by Superintendent-Director Davis and Assistant Superintendent/Principal Michael Barton, followed by a presentation from faculty about the school’s core values of Respect, Effort, Accountability, Commitment and Honesty (R.E.A.C.H).
Students were given campus tours by Greater Lowell Tech Student Leaders who helped organize the event.
Additionally, students participated in icebreaker activities, and received school T-shirts and a “Freshman Needs to Know Booklet” with advice for starting high school.
Incoming ninth graders had the opportunity to talk to a panel of upperclassmen before they headed to a cookout for lunch.
After lunch, students made their way to the football field where they took their first Greater Lowell Tech class picture.
“It was a wonderful day for students to connect with peers and tour the school that will be their home for the next four years,” said Superintendent Davis. “I want to wish them well as they prepare for their first day and I am excited to see these students learn and grow over the next four years!
The first day of school for all students is Wednesday, Aug. 31.
