WENHAM – Chief Kevin DiNapoli is pleased to announce that the Wenham Police Department has retired its Patrolman title and matching badges in favor of the title Patrol Officer.

Beginning this month, Wenham Police unveiled new badges for members of the patrol division that read “Patrol Officer” rather than “Patrolman.” All Patrol Officers now wear the new badges reflecting the change on their uniforms.

“This is a step forward for our department that reflects the value we place on inclusiveness,” Chief DiNapoli said. “I want to thank all of our members who advocated for and were supportive of this positive change.”
