HOLBROOK — Director Steve Hooke is pleased to announce that the Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center has been awarded a grant from the Massachusetts State 911 Department totaling more than $4 million.
The grant, officially referred to as the “Fiscal Year 2023 State 911 Department Regional Public Safety Answering Point and Regional Secondary Public Safety Answering Point and Regional Emergency Communications Center Development Grant,” is effective July 1.
The competitive grant will provide funding to cover assessment fees for the Towns of Rockland, Abington and Sherborn; transition expenses for the Town of Sherborn Security Measures; and the purchase of equipment that will optimize interoperability with partner agencies (mobile and subscriber units as well as radio infrastructure), enhance the level of service and provide a positive impact on multi-community public safety.
The full grant amount totals $4,095,747.
“We are extremely appreciative to have once again received this highly competitive Development Grant from the State 911 Department,” Director Hooke said. “I’d like to thank all of our staff for everything they do, as well as our partner communities, including our Police and Fire Chiefs, who are so committed to working together to keep our residents safe.”
