HULL- Superintendent Judy Kuehn and Principal Christine Cappadona are pleased to announce that Jacobs School kindergarten students participated in their annual “Around the Community” field trip recently.
As part of the “Around the Community” field trip, kindergarten students were treated to a two-day exploration of Hull. The trip was complete with tours, presentations, and inside looks of the Point Allerton Coast Guard Station, the Hull Public Library, the Police Station, Green Hill Fire Station, the Town Hall and Paragon Carousel.
Some of the many highlights included going inside the Coast Guard boats, spraying the fire hose at the fire station, touring the police station (including an up close look at the handcuffs and holding cells) and casting a special vote inside Town Hall.
The field trip coincided with Hull Public Library children’s librarian Anne Masland’s last day. Kindergarteners said farewell to Masland as she handed out her very last batch of library cards — a wonderful way to wrap up her career and mark her retirement.
At the Paragon Carousel, the kindergarteners were treated to a welcome from the team with open arms, offering two complimentary rides to the children, teachers and chaperones.
“The ‘Around the Community’ field trip is an amazing opportunity for the kindergarteners to engage with the people who live and work in our town,” Principal Cappadona said. “The Jacobs School kindergarten team would like to thank Hull’s community members for opening their doors, donating their time, teaching the children important lessons, answering all their questions and treating them to some pretty sweet goody bags.”
