HOLBROOK — Chief William Smith and Community Outreach Officer Michael Szczesny are pleased to share that registration is now open for the 2022 Holbrook Junior Police Academy.
The Academy will run Aug. 1-5 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at Holbrook Middle High School, 245 South Franklin St.

Registration will be first come, first served for current fifth and sixth grade students. The Academy will be limited to the first 30 students to submit an application. Completed applications can be dropped off at the Holbrook Police Station with attention to Officer Michael Szczesny. Registration will close on June 29.
Attendees will take part in classroom sessions, see demonstrations by police officers from various areas of law enforcement, learn drug awareness and first responder skills, as well as take part in physical training sessions and field trips.
“The Junior Police Academy is a great way for kids to learn about safety and responsible citizenship, as well as connect with other kids in the community and interact with police officers,” Officer Szczesny said. “We always look forward to hosting the program and providing kids with a week of fun and informational activities.”
The cost to participate in the program is $100, payable by check. The fee covers operating costs, a student uniform and a water bottle.
