GROVELAND — Fire Chief Robert Valentine and Police Chief Jeffrey Gillen report that the Groveland Fire Department and Groveland Police Department responded to a report of a young male who was pulled from a pool.

On Friday, June 10, at 10:56 a.m., Groveland dispatchers received a report of a medical incident at a pool at a private recreational camp on Bare Hill Road. Groveland’s engine and Groveland officers responded, along with PRIDEStar EMS.

While en route, Groveland Fire learned that cardiopulmonary resuscitation was underway. Upon arrival, first responders found the boy conscious and breathing.

Following a preliminary assessment, the boy was transported to Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill. The boy was subsequently transported by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital for further treatment.

Witnesses stated that the boy, a 12-year-old from Newburyport, was seen at the bottom of a pool on the property and pulled out by the lifeguard.
