It features a new decontamination washer, washer extractor, and drying cabinet, all of which function to clean gear of toxins and pollutants that can be harmful to first responders’ overall health and wellness.
The station was also designed to be energy efficient, with the use of geothermal heating and cooling and solar energy that will serve to decrease energy needs and reduce the cost to taxpayers.
Kaestle Boos Associates Inc. designed the station. Huffer Construction Corp. served as General Contractor. PMA Consultants served as Owner’s Project Manager.
