WHITMAN — Superintendent Jeffrey Szymaniak and Whitman-Hanson Regional High School art instructor Christina Maher are pleased to share that senior Lily Hawk is the latest student to have her work displayed as part of the school’s Senior Showcase.
Hawk’s work will be shown in the art department showcases through June 2. Her work also can be viewed online here.
After high school, Hawk plans to attend Maine College of Art & Design with the hope of majoring in illustration and/or game art. She says she plans on continuing to create art after graduation, and her goal is to pursue art as a career focusing on character designs and background designs for games or stories, as well as being able to create art for herself and her friends.
“Getting involved with the arts, especially at Whitman-Hanson, has helped me meet new people and make new friends, as well as get closer to people I already knew. The art classes I have taken both at W-H and out of school have helped me improve immensely in both how I create, and what I create,” Hawk said. “Taking Art Foundations all the way back in freshman year might have been one of the best things I could have done for myself.”
