Somerset Police Remind Residents and Visitors of Parking/Traffic Restrictions for ‘SOAM—Slade’s Ferry District’

SOMERSET — Chief Todd Costa reports that in observation of the “SOAM—Slade’s Ferry District” event on Saturday, May 21, the Somerset Police Department will enact a series of parking and traffic restrictions in the area of the Slade's Ferry District/Park in order to facilitate the safe and orderly flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

SOMERSET — Chief Todd Costa reports that in observation of the “SOAM—Slade’s Ferry District” event on Saturday, May 21, the Somerset Police Department will enact a series of parking and traffic restrictions in the area of the Slade’s Ferry District/Park in order to facilitate the safe and orderly flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Unauthorized vehicles parked in posted areas will be tagged and towed if necessary. All parking restrictions will be in place on Saturday, May 21, between the hours of 7 a.m. through 3 p.m.

Parking will be restricted on both sides of the street as indicated below:

  • Slade’s Ferry Boulevard;
  • Brayton Avenue—South of Grand Army Highway (U.S. Route 6) to McArthur Avenue

Privately-funded police details will be deployed in the area to service the event. In order to facilitate the safe flow of traffic in and out of the area, motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic are asked to employ due caution and to stand by for lawful direction from detail officers when appropriate.

The Somerset Police Department appreciates the public’s cooperation and apologizes for any inconvenience.
