Newburyport Police and Fire Respond to Crash Involving Pedestrian

NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray and Fire Chief Christopher LeClaire report that the Newburyport Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Storey Avenue Monday morning.

NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray and Fire Chief Christopher LeClaire report that the Newburyport Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Storey Avenue Monday morning.

At approximately 11:45 a.m., a 911 caller reported that a pedestrian was struck by a truck at the intersection of Storey Avenue and Noble Street.

Police and firefighters responded to find an 82-year-old woman suffering from serious injuries after being struck by the truck.

The victim was transported to an area hospital by Amesbury Fire Department, which also responded to the scene. Atlantic Ambulance also responded to render aid.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. 

The incident is under investigation by the Newburyport Police Department.
