HANSON — Chief Michael Miksch reports that the Hanson Police Department is actively seeking a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident in town this evening that involved a bicyclist.

At approximately 5:50 p.m. Hanson Police were dispatched to the area of 500 Maquan St. (Route 14) for a report of a bicyclist stuck by a vehicle. Hanson Fire and Police responded to the scene and found a male in his 40s with serious injuries. A medical helicopter was called for by Hanson Fire, which flew the injured party to a nearby hospital.

Hanson Police are actively seeking a midsized white crossover-type SUV with possible front end and passenger side damage. The vehicle was captured on a digital home camera just prior to the crash, heading east on Route 14 toward Pembroke.

Massachusetts State Police Troopers from the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit and Troopers assigned to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz’s Office were called to assist with the investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call the Hanson Police at 781-293-4625.
