RANDOLPH — Chief Anthony Marag reports that the Randolph Police Department has arrested and charged a man in connection with Wednesday’s shooting outside a restaurant.

On Wednesday, May 4, just after 12 p.m., Randolph Police responded to 14 Condlin Drive for a report of a shooting. Responding officers located a 20-year-old Randolph man who had been shot multiple times after exiting the restaurant. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The male suspect fled the area on foot. Randolph Police, with the assistance of a Braintree Police K-9 and Weymouth Police K-9, searched the area but did not immediately locate a suspect.

Detectives collected evidence from the crime scene, including 9mm shell casings. K-9 teams subsequently located a loaded 9mm firearm with a high-capacity magazine hidden within a bandana in a nearby wooded area.

Through the subsequent investigation, RAYMOND was identified as a suspect. Police also learned that RAYMOND and the victim are known to each other.

RAYMOND was observed by officers Wednesday evening between 5:30-6 p.m. when he returned to the area where the firearm had been located by police. He was taken into custody without incident. A knife was located on RAYMOND during a search of his person.

RAYMOND, who is known to police, was transported to the Randolph Police station for booking. He is expected to be arraigned today in Quincy District Court.

These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
