WHITMAN — Superintendent Jeffrey Szymaniak and Whitman-Hanson Regional High School art instructor Christina Maher are pleased to announce a collaboration with the Wright Building Studio Space for the school’s “Art in Action” exhibition.
WHRHS creative art students will be showing their work at the Wright Event space later this month. The exhibition will also feature music from WHRHS music students, and appetizers from WHRHS culinary students.
Students will also be selling ceramic plates to benefit the Whitman and Hanson food pantries at the exhibition.
“I am incredibly proud of each student who submitted art and worked to make this collaboration successful. Everyone put in hours and hours of hard work into their pieces, and they all turned out to be truly special,” Maher said. “As an art teacher, I am thrilled to have the opportunity for our student artists to collaborate on this event with Jeanne Morton, the manager of the Wright Event Space, as well as professional artists. It is such a great opportunity for our students and their families to be able visit such a diverse group of artists in their actual studios spaces.”
Opening night of the exhibition is Thursday, May 12. From 5-7 p.m. guests are invited to tour many of the art studios run by professional artists at the Wright Building Studio Space. Guests will be invited to view the WHRHS “Art in Action” exhibition on the first floor Wright Gallery Space from 6-8.
Additional gallery hours are Friday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday May, 14-15 from noon to 4 p.m.
