PLAINVILLE — Chief James Floyd announces that the Plainville Police Department is actively seeking military veterans for full-time officer positions.

The current schedule for officers is four consecutive workdays followed by two days off. The schedule allows an officer to have an extra 17 days off a year compared to the typical five-on/two-off schedule.
The base annual salary for a Student Police Officer is $54,866. However, the current top step salary of Patrol Officers (non-supervisory sworn staff) is $78,755.
Preference will be given to candidates who have attended and graduated from any full-time police academy certified by the Massachusetts Police Training Council. Those who have earned an associate’s degree or above in criminal justice or a related field also will be given preference.
