For immediate release

PLAINVILLE — Chief James Floyd announces that the Plainville Police Department is actively seeking military veterans for full-time officer positions.

The Plainville Police Department is a progressive and contemporary agency that offers a rewarding career. Individuals who wish to serve the public will find that the Plainville Police Department offers a competitive salary with step increases, a comprehensive benefits package, educational incentives and night differentials.

The agency provides training and additional opportunities to enhance your career in law enforcement including a Detective Bureau, Motorcycle Unit, Regional Special Response Teams, and more.

The current schedule for officers is four consecutive workdays followed by two days off. The schedule allows an officer to have an extra 17 days off a year compared to the typical five-on/two-off schedule.

The base annual salary for a Student Police Officer is $54,866. However, the current top step salary of Patrol Officers (non-supervisory sworn staff) is $78,755.

Preference will be given to candidates who have attended and graduated from any full-time police academy certified by the Massachusetts Police Training Council. Those who have earned an associate’s degree or above in criminal justice or a related field also will be given preference.

To apply, interested individuals should submit a handwritten letter of interest, a current resume, and proof of an honorable discharge or current commitment addressed to the Chief of Police at 194 South St., Plainville, MA 02762.
