WHITMAN — Superintendent Jeffrey Szymaniak and Whitman-Hanson Regional High School art instructor Christina Maher are pleased to share that senior Connor Gouthro is having their work displayed as part of a special exhibit.

Starting on Friday, March 25, Gouthro’s work will be shown in three art department showcases. The show will end on April 8.

“We are incredibly proud of Connor’s dedication and passion for art,” Maher said. “The art being displayed shows diligent creativity and I look forward to the work this incredibly talented student artist creates in the future.”

Gouthro has been an active member of the school’s art community and was involved in the “Inspired I” art program last year.

Gouthro has also been an active member of the WHRHS Art in Action Club for four years and has created three portraits for The Memory Project, which connects American Art Students to orphans and refugees in foreign countries through creating portraits of these children who have often had to leave all of their photographs of their childhood and other worldly possessions behind (including Cameroon in 2022, Afghanistan in 2021, and Pakistan in 2020).

“Art has led me to meet and become friends with people I never thought I would talk to and a great community of people who have changed my life for the better,” Gouthro said. “It has always been something I can sit down and focus on while keeping my mind and skills sharp.”

Connor’s art can be also be accessed virtually here.
