SOUTH EASTON — Superintendent Luis Lopes and Principal Leslie Weckesser are pleased to report that Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School will hold an open house/parent information session this week for its SOAR program in partnership with Brockton High School.
Thursday, March 31, from 5-7 p.m.
Brockton High School, 470 Forest Ave., Brockton
The open house will be a unique opportunity for eighth graders and their parents to learn about the collaborative effort developed between Brockton High School and Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School known as the SOAR program. Students will attend Brockton High School as usual, then following their day, Southeastern buses will pick students up to bring them to the Southeastern campus.
The SOAR program will count as elective credits through Brockton High School. Students attending this program will have the opportunity to earn a Vocational Certificate from Southeastern upon graduation.
The SOAR program is free to Brockton High School students. Beginning on Sept. 20 and ending on June 1, SOAR will run from 2:45-5:45 p.m. Monday-Wednesday each week (except for days specified in the SOAR calendar). Transportation will be provided free of charge by Southeastern. Buses will leave from Brockton High at 2:15 p.m. to Southeastern, and return back from Southeastern at 5:45 p.m., returning to Brockton High at approximately 6:15 p.m.
