CONCORD — Chief Joseph O’Connor reports that the Concord Police Department is seeking information about an incident in which a driver reported being hit by a projectile while driving on Sudbury Road Friday.

On Friday, March 18, at approximately 4 p.m., a driver reported to Concord Police that she was struck in the face by an unidentified projectile that she believed was from an air-powered pellet gun.

The reporting party said she was driving north on Sudbury Road near Oxbow Lane, and was passing a dark-colored sport utility vehicle when she was struck in the face. The driver said she pulled over and found a small, orange ball on her shirt, which she brushed off onto the ground. The driver suffered no visible injuries.

Officers searched the driver’s vehicle but were unable to locate any more of the objects. The incident remains under investigation.

“We are sharing this news in the hope that someone in the community may have seen something that can aid our investigation,” said Chief O’Connor. “It would be helpful if residents who live in the area could check their Ring or other security cameras and look for any suspicious people or vehicles and contact us if they see something unusual.”

Concord Police are asking anyone with information on this incident, or anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area, to call police at 978-318-3400, or to call the Concord Police anonymous tip line at 978-318-3407.
